Leonardo DiCaprio was born Wilhelm 11st November 1974, in Los Angeles. Although his parents separated shortly after his birth, his mother and father George Irmelin still an important part of his life and career. Irmelin DiCaprio handles finances, while his son George screens scripts on receiving them. DiCaprio's career began on the small screen at an early age, with roles in various commercials and an appearance in Romper Room. He felt discouraged early in his career as an agent rejected him for having a name that sounded foreign. Leonardo DiCaprio could very well become Lenny Williams, when he suggested that his name change, but DiCaprio rejected.
