Biography

A native of Scarborough, Canada, where he was born on 25 May 1963, Myers seemed to Saturday Night Live, when he made his TV debut in a commercial at the age of eight, the actress playing his mother was no other than a pre-SNL Gilda Radner. Myers went on to appear in a number of Canadian TV shows, and after high school degree, he almost immediately joined the Second City, Toronto famous group. Until the age of 20, Myers was the star of his own TV series, Mullarkey and Myers, and also have the time as a veejay for the whole night Canadian music video show. Although he worked in various programs, the comedian continues to hone the characterizations, which it later made famous in SLB. The Wayne's World character of Wayne Campbell, for example, was that Myers was doing since high school, when he used the impersonation to impress girls at parties.

In 1989, Myers fulfilled a longtime dream by becoming a member of Saturday Night Live. During his time in the show, which until 1994, he won an Emmy for his writing, and he starred alongside fellow-SNL cast member Dana Carvey in the successful 1992 film Wayne's World. Unfortunately for Myers, the film continuation of 1993, Wayne's World 2, proved to be a disappointment, as well as his other film this year, So I Married An Axe Murderer. However, he met gold four years later, writing and lead actor in the sleeper hit Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. The film to success, but all guaranteed to continue, but before writing and the main role in it, Myers explored previously uncharted territory in dramatic 54 (1998). His presentation of the club's regular drug-addled owner Steve Rubell, met with broad recognition; Unfortunately, it was only through the aspect of the film that did. The following year, Myers moved back to comedy with the much anticipated continuation Austin Powers, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me The recipient of a marketing campaign whose volume was bested only by that of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, the film was still more popular than the original (for more money for home video than in its first theatrical release), although not as well received by critics. In the same year, Myers again further north climes and his lifelong love for ice hockey, when he appeared in Mystery, Alaska, which was helmed by Austin Powers director Jay Roach.

In 2001, Myers made an audible back for the film screens as ugly monster with the child-friendly fairy tale spoof Shrek. Since we know that his voice-over work does not quite work, after all his dialogue, Myers dusted from the patented Scottish accent he had related to humorous effect in both SNL and So I Married An Axe Murderer Atmete and new life into the story of an unlikely hero, to restore order to the land of fairy tales and rescue the princess. A hit with children and adults alike, Shrek scored big in the summer 2001 movie season, easily holding his own against such heavies as Pearl Harbor and The Mummy Returns.

The following years Meyers back once again on the screen as everyone's favorite snaggletoothed superspy Austin Powers in Goldmember. Already a series stalwarts as Dr. Evil and Fat Basard also the third film in the series also found Meyers amplification in the shoes of the newest master criminal, the license holder Goldmembers. As a double linked Danish criminal mastermind with an unsightly skin disorders and a plan to control the world, Meyer achieved a hit again in the bank, raking in an impressive opening weekend gross and holds its own against a number of notable summer releases. ~ Rebecca Flint, All Movie Guide.



Trivia
  • High Scool graduate in 1982 and was immediately accepted in Toronto's Second City Comedy ensmble.
  • Published with Gilda Radner, in a television commercial when he was nine, he called on the last day of shooting and ever since his brothers called him "Sucky Baby".
  • June 2000: is being sued by Universal Pictures for $ 3.8 million for the support from his contract to play Dieter in a feature film version of his "Saturday Night Live" Skit "pinion. Myers was quoted saying he would refuse to honor the 20 million-dollar contract rather than "cheating viewers with an unacceptable script"
  • His parents, Eric and Alice, were British citizens, which is the reason why Myers leads a British passport.
  • As a teenager, he would act out his character Wayne girls at parties.
  • Collects model soldiers, to find the buildings and paintings of soldiers to relax.
