Keanu (which means "cool breeze over the mountains" in Hawaiian) Charles Reeves was born in Beirut, Lebanon, on 2 September 1964. His father, Samuel Nowlin Reeves, is a former Chinese-Hawaiian geologist, while his British mother, Patricia Taylor, is a former showgirl. In 1966, after the birth of second child Kim, the family moved to Australia for one year.

But soon, Patricia and Samuel divorced. With custody of the children, Patricia moved to New York City, where she married director Paul Aaron. The family moved to Toronto, Canada, and became a Canadian citizen.


During his long and busy career, Keanu Reeves was in Dangerous Liaisons (1988), Point Break (1991), Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992), Speed (1994), The Devil's Advocate (1997), and the Matrix trilogy. But for many, he is always relaxed dimwitted Ted Logan from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989).

Keanu Reeves also had roles in The Gift (2000), somethings Gotta Give (2003), Thumbsucker (2005), The Lake House (2006), Street Kings (2008) and The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008).

Not only was Keanu Reeves election Empire magazine, the number 17 on the list of the 100 Sexiest Stars in Film History in 1995, but he is also known as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world by people magazine.

Many of Keanu Reeves' female fans have created Web pages to him. And although he's been romantically linked to how Jennifer Syme (died in a car accident in 2001), Jill Schoelen, and allegedly had a romantic relationship with his matrix costar Carrie-Anne Moss, he seems to be mysterious, if it comes to his relations.

In January 2005, he was rumors way, with Amanda de Cadanet, but as soon as June rolled around, he had apparently married Autumn Macintosh. Only Keanu Reeves certainly knows ...

Keanu Reeves received his first paycheck to act is a Canadian Coca-Cola commercial in 1980 and four years later he was in another ad, this time for Kellogg's Corn Flakes. He established a name for himself in the circuit Toronto theatre with plays like Wolfboy in 1984 and Romeo and Juliet in 1985.

After the made-for-TV film Letting Go (1985) and the film One Step Away (1985), Keanu Reeves could be in Youngblood (his American film debut in 1986), River's Edge (1986), Flying ( 1986), And five TV films such as Young Again (1986) and the remake of Babes in Toyland (1986), one-for-TV movie starring Drew Barrymore.

In 1988, Keanu Reeves in the night before, Permanent Record, The Prince of Pennsylvania, and the Academy Award-winning Dangerous Liaisons with Uma Thurman. He followed it with the cult classic, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989).

Keanu Reeves' next projects were parenthood (1989), I Love You to Death (1990), Tune In Tomorrow ... (1990), and Point Break (1991) as an FBI agent undercover as surfers. Then came two 1991 features: Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey and My Own Private Idaho.

With his stock rising, Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992), Much Ado About Nothing (1993), Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (1993) and Little Buddha (1993) as the mythical Siddhartha. The international blockbuster Speed (1994) established him as Action Hero and Sandra Bullock a star.

The following titles on his resume - Johnny Mnemonic (1995), A Walk in the Clouds (1995), Chain Reaction (1996), Feeling Minnesota (1996) and The Last Time I Committed Suicide (1997) - were disappointments. However, Keanu Reeves came back in top form with The Devil's Advocate (1997) and The Matrix (1999).

Following the Replacements, The Watcher and the gift, all functions 2000, he starred in Hard Ball (2001) and the Chick Flick Sweet November (2001) with Charlize Theron. In the year 2003 was filled with Keanu Reeves The Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions and Something's Gotta Give with Jack Nicholson.

Keanu Reeves came back strongly in 2005 with the title role in Constantine. And he was even busier in 2006, with the release of A Scanner Darkly, Il Mare (which reunited him with Sandra Bullock) and The Night Watchman.
